My Little Pony The Crystal Empire DVD Review

Identical in style to previous DVD's in the Friendship Is Magic series, with a clear story, music and song throughout, and good use of humour, this is a very sweet tale despite having a little more obvious 'peril' than most. You have little doubt the ponies will be able to save the day - and the Crystal Empire - in the end.

My Little Pony DVD's are rated U - the peril is mild, and even when the bad guys are on screen, they aren't particularly scary, and are easily defeated by the ponies using their intelligence and teamwork.

Smaller children from around age 2 will enjoy The Crystal Empire even if they're unable to completely follow the storyline, which itself will only really be properly understood by children around 4+. At 7 1/2 my son still watches when he's tired and we need some chill time, but he is beginning to move on to more complex and testosterone fuelled TV shows now. My 5 year old however still asks to watch My Little Pony. I think longevity is possibly better for girls, children who play with the toys and true My Little Pony fans.
