The Secret Life of Pets 2 is now available on DVD, Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD and Digital Download from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. They've sent us a copy to review and I have a Blu-ray to give away to one of my readers too!

What are your pets doing when you aren't at home?

This heartwarming animated sequel from Illumination, the studio that brought us Despicable Me, Minions and Sing, is also led by a star-studded comedic cast. All of our favorite Pets and their growing families are back in a new chapter which really examines the deep bonds between them and their humans.

The voice cast includes Patton Oswalt (A.P. Bio), Kevin Hart (Ride Along Series), Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family), Jenny Slate (Despicable Me 3), Tiffany Haddish (Girls Trip), Lake Bell (Children’s Hospital), Nick Kroll (Sing), Dana Carvey (Wayne’s World), Ellie Kemper (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Hannibal Buress (Neighbors) and Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live).

Excitingly for me, Harrison Ford takes his first ever role in an animated film as new addition Rooster, the very mature farm dog who they meet later on in the movie.

Star of the film really is Max, the little terrier. His human Katie meets a nice man, gets married and they have a baby. Max takes a little while to get used to the new addition, and when he does, he starts to feel the panic and worry that all new parents face. He realises protecting the baby is going to be hard work and his anxiety gets the better of him at first.

There are lots of little stories happening at once, as we also look at the other pets in the apartments nearby. Snowball the rabbit who thinks he's a superhero thanks to some new pyjamas, and the posh Pomeranian Gidget, who loves Max and would do anything for him, including rescuing his toy. They all have their own unlikely adventures, and the action carries on throughout the film.

A good movie to watch together as a family, The Secret Life Of Pets 2 is as good as the first one, and possibly has more storyline, albeit loosely connected. There is enough to keep an adult's interest, but the action is visual and easy enough for your younger children to follow.

The 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray™, DVD and Digital versions of the film are packed with more than 90 minutes of bonus content, including two brand new, laugh-out-loud funny mini-movies - Super Gidget and Minion Scouts. Additionally included are deleted scenes, DIY and drawing tutorials, as well as a special interactive Captain Snowball Motion Comic on the 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray versions,

  4. All sorts I am sure :- Fun for them. I can recall once, many years ago. Boyfriend told me the cat had really enjoyed his Go Kat treats. Boyfriend had unwittingly put all wrapped Christmas presents under the decorated Christmas tree. His omission (as he knew cat got these along with other gifts for Christmas every year ) was delight for cat :- An early Christmas present of a large box of his cat treats. He had opened the present himself.
