Trolls World Tour DVD giveaway UK Sent by Universal Pictures

The images below are Trolls World Tour activity sheets you can save and print off in A4.

I wouldn't have put Trolls World Tour anywhere near the top of my watch list, but reviews were really good. The Dance Party Edition is 2 movies for the price of 1, as it includes an interactive dance party mode. This really is a party movie, launching into the first song almost instantly, and just like the name of those 80's/90's multi-band tours, the rock never stops...

Gemini Man Movie Review (Cert 12) and 2 x DVD Giveaway (sent by Paramount)

Gemini Man is available to Download & Keep from today, 3rd February, and will be out on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD from 17th February. Paramount Home Entertainment's newest release is an action thriller starring Will Smith, which will keep you on your toes from beginning to end.

Suitable for viewers aged around 12+ because of the peril and danger which the main character faces, Ang Lee's latest movie is packed with epic fight scenes and some groundbreaking visual effects - Will Smith with Will Smith features quite heavily and it's very well done.

Gemini Man DVD cover showing Will Smith and young Will Smith

The story follows retired hitman Henry Brogan, forced to go on the run because he is being hunted by a keen, highly skilled young assassin determined to catch his target.

I don't want to give away too much of the storyline, as there are twists and turns throughout, but Henry Brogan is an assassin who almost botches his last job and decides it's time to retire. He rents a house boat and settles back, but very quickly realises he's being watched, and his life is in danger.

Blinded By The Light DVD Review and Giveaway (Cert 12A) Sent for review.

Blinded By The Light is a UK movie brought to us by writer/director/producer Gurinder Chadha (Bend It Like Beckham). Released by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, based on the book Greetings from Bury Park: Race, Religion and Rock N’ Roll, and inspired by the real life of author Javed Manzoor.

There is a superb cast, with credits including Bend It Like Beckham, Game Of Thrones and Gavin And Stacey, and a soundtrack featuring a host of late 1980's hits, as well as Bruce Springsteen's back catalogue.

Blinded By The Light DVD Review and Giveaway

The movie starts in 1980, with young Javed talking about his life and setting the scene. This is when he decides to start keeping a journal, and his story begins.

We skip to 1987 and Javed's now a young adult (played by Viveik Kalra), living in industrialised Luton, going to college and dreaming of something more exciting. His friend Matt has also grown up, but he goes on fancy holidays abroad and is in a politically active band. Javed needs more.

The soundtrack is brilliant. Cutting Crew, Pet Shop Boys and a host of others play along as the 1980's kids jiggle, lip synch and push a car to get it started in the morning, in a much more realistic version of 1987 than most.

Christmas Hero Box Sets for the hero in your life (With FOX Home Entertainment)

My family are big movie fans. We rarely watch TV Shows, and I don't recognise any of the reality TV or soap stars, but we soak up movies and film night is a regular occurrence. Christmas is a time for classics, and Fox Home Entertainment have sent me 3 of their Hero Box Sets to look at: The Rocky Collectors Gift Set, The Clint Eastwood Collection and The Die Hard 1-5 Legacy Collection.

All of which will be under the tree on Christmas morning for my partner...

There is also a chance for one of my followers on Twitter to win all 3 of these box sets themselves - you can find my Fox Heroes Blu-Ray Box Sets giveaway here, and it closes at midnight Wednesday 11th December.

Christmas Giveaway: Toy Story 4 Movie Review and DVD Giveaway(sent for review)

Toy Story is a long-standing favourite here. My oldest son was a huge fan when the first movie was new, and it made it's return perfectly in time for my younger boys to be able to appreciate the antics of Woody, Buzz, Bo and all of the other animated toys.

Toy Story 4 is now available on Digital Download & Keep, DVD, Blu-ray and other formats for you to watch at home, and I have a DVD copy to give away to one of my readers. We were sent a copy for review and it's a great return to form...

Toy Story 4 Movie Review and DVD Giveaway Pack shot with title and characters smiling

The story features a cast of long-standing Toy Story characters, as well as a few new additions, and starts with a 10 minute segment looking back over what has happened to our animated friends over the past 23 years. It brought a definite lump to my throat...

cast of toy story characters who have survived since 1996.

The toys are now in the care of Bonnie, who has just started kindergarten. She makes herself a toy using junk modelling, and Forky (who is really a spork) comes to life. Forky is excited to be here, but obviously very immature, and Woody takes him under his wing.

The Secret Life Of Pets 2 Movie Review and Blu-ray Giveaway

The Secret Life of Pets 2 is now available on DVD, Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD and Digital Download from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. They've sent us a copy to review and I have a Blu-ray to give away to one of my readers too!

What are your pets doing when you aren't at home?

The Secret Life Of Pets 2 Blu-ray cover photo showing animated dogs smiling

This heartwarming animated sequel from Illumination, the studio that brought us Despicable Me, Minions and Sing, is also led by a star-studded comedic cast. All of our favorite Pets and their growing families are back in a new chapter which really examines the deep bonds between them and their humans.

The voice cast includes Patton Oswalt (A.P. Bio), Kevin Hart (Ride Along Series), Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family), Jenny Slate (Despicable Me 3), Tiffany Haddish (Girls Trip), Lake Bell (Children’s Hospital), Nick Kroll (Sing), Dana Carvey (Wayne’s World), Ellie Kemper (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Hannibal Buress (Neighbors) and Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live).

Excitingly for me, Harrison Ford takes his first ever role in an animated film as new addition Rooster, the very mature farm dog who they meet later on in the movie.

Wonder Park (PG) Family Movie Review and DVD Giveaway (Sent by Paramount)

Wonder Park is a sweet feel-good family movie which has a couple of slightly more serious moments. Paramount Home Media Distribution sent us a copy to review, as well as some Wonder Park goodies, and we all really enjoyed it! Out today on Download & Keep, and on Blu-ray and DVD from 19th August, it's a great film to fill a rainy Summer afternoon.
Wonder Park (PG) Family Movie Review and DVD Giveaway pack shot with lots of smiling animated animals

Wonder Park has a great cast including Jennifer Garner, Mila Kunis and Ken Jeong, and centres on a young girl named June, who has created an amazing amusement park with her mother. They imagine and draw all of the rides and attractions, fill the park with animal characters who have fun all day, and it's a very happy place to be.

When June's Mum becomes ill, June loses her happiness, and she turns her back on the Wonder Park. Unknown to her, it can't function without her and it quickly falls into disrepair, and is overtaken by Chimpanzombies. When she returns she finds it broken and the characters desperately unhappy. June feels the weight of responsibility and realises it's up to her to cheer the whole park up in time to save it, and in the process, she also finds her own joy...

Mary And The Witch's Flower DVD and Book Giveaway

Mary And The Witch's Flower is a new DVD release from Studio Ponoc. Suitable for all of the family, but best suited to those school-aged or above, this is a beautiful animated retelling of the  book The Little Broomstick by Mary Stewart. It features an amazing voice cast including Kate Winslett, Jim Broadbent and Ewen Bremner.

We were sent a pre-release copy of the movie to review and I watched it with my 8 and 9 year old boys. They both enjoy anime and a good fantastical story.

Mary And The Witch's Flower tells the tale of 10 year old Mary, who is living with relatives while she waits for her parents to return from working away. It's the school Summer holidays and she is bored and lonely, the most interesting thing in her day is being told folklore by the gardener.

Spot The LEGO Ninjago Ninja! at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre

What better for a Sunday morning than a swift game of 'Where's The Ninja'? We were guests of Warner Bros at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre last Thursday evening for a special event to promote the release of The LEGO Ninjago Movie on DVD and Digital Download, and my partner saw his opportunity to have a bit of a photobomb chuckle.

There's a Ninja in every photo - some are more obvious than others and some are hilariously photoshopped in because we just weren't as organised as we gave ourselves credit for. The Ninja is blue and made from DUPLO. We'll start easy...

This is really not hard, but as with all good 'spot the character' puzzles, the answers are upside down at the bottom of the page. If you are using a desktop PC, I'd suggest turning your head rather than the screen... no cheating now!

Movie Night with The LEGO Ninjago Movie (out now on digital download).

The LEGO Ninjago Movie was released on Digital Download on January 30th and we were among the first people to watch it in the comfort of our own home. We had already seen the movie in the cinema, but everyone wanted to watch it again and we were sent a bundle of goodies by Warner Bros to make a movie night of it!

We are big fans of the LEGO movies and we have really enjoyed them all. Ninjago is a LEGO theme with your traditional ninjas and dragons mixed with amazing technology and mechanics. It's an excellent theme and Ninjago are the most played with LEGO sets here.  There is also a Ninjago TV show, as well as books and of course the 4D cinema and Ninjago City Adventure play area at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre. We are in very familiar territory and even I know all the names of the characters.

The Jungle Bunch Movie DVD Review and Giveaway (2 Winners).

The Jungle Bunch family animated movie was released by 20th Century Fox on DVD on Monday and we were sent a copy to review, along with some snacks and merchandise for the boys so that we could have a bit of a party. It's mainly for families with children aged around 3-7, but my 8 and 9 year olds were happy to watch with me.

Set in the jungle, as the name suggests, this is the story of a group of quite eccentric animals. The main character is a penguin who was raised by a tigress and believes he is The Great Warrior Tiger. She also painted him stripey to fit in.

The LEGO Batman Movie is available now on DVD and Blu-Ray

We loved The LEGO Batman Movie, that tongue-in-cheek humour and dry wit is hilarious, and the kids laugh for more obvious reasons. A great mix of lightweight storyline and pathos which leaves everyone in a good buddy mood.

We first saw The LEGO Batman Movie in London and then we were given a digital download code to 'buy and keep' so that we could watch it again. I can honestly say I enjoyed it almost as much the second time.

The Girl On The Train (15) DVD Review - Date Night Movie

Monday 6th Feb saw the release on DVD of the thriller from Entertainment One - The Girl On The Train. With a fantastic cast and more than enough passion, intrigue and action to satisfy everyone, this is a movie that is perfect to watch on Valentine's Day.

Starring Emily Blunt as the eponymous and very troubled main character, supported by Haley Bennett and Rebecca Ferguson, as well as Justin Theroux and Luke Evans, The Girl On The Train is rated 15 and is not a gentle romance at all. The suspense is held throughout, and your allegiances change as you find out more backstory, and follow the twisting plotline.

Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes DVD Review and Giveaway

The latest release from Entertainment One is Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes. A two-part animated movie based on the classic collection of stories by Roald Dahl, and a huge hit at Christmas on TV, Revolting Rhymes comes to DVD on 6th February, and is available now on Digital Download.

The film has a warm and familiar style, as the animation is by Magic Light Pictures, the team behind award-winning films The Gruffalo and Stick Man. There is the usual light-hearted humour, and fantastic expression on the faces of the characters.

The British cast is great (everyone loves Roald Dahl) and includes my 8 year old son's favourite current children's author David Walliams, as well as Tamsin Grieg, Rob Brydon, Dominic West and others.

Asterix: The Mansions Of The Gods DVD Giveaway

Asterix: The Mansions Of The Gods is a PG rated computer animated adventure movie, with a voice cast that includes a host of UK comedians in the familiar starring roles, including Jack Whitehall as Asterix, and Nick Frost as Obelix. It will be released on DVD and 2D/3D Blu-ray on December 12th - just in time for Christmas, and I have a copy to give away to one of my readers...

The movie is set in 50 BC, and Gaul was entirely occupied by the Romans. Well, not entirely… as one small village still holds out against the invaders. Julius Caesar (Jim Broadbent), exasperated by the situation, decides to change tactics. Since Julius Caesar and his armies are unable to beat them using force, the Romans decide to charm the barbaric Gauls with the introduction of civilisation and modern luxuries. A fantastic housing complex is built near the village for Roman families, and it is named ‘The Mansions of the Gods’.
