Geronimo Festival 2017 new announcements - main stage celebrities

The Geronimo Festival will take place at Arley Hall in Northwich, Cheshire from 27-29 May this year. The children's festival is designed especially for families with children aged under 13, and promises to have far more than you can pack into a day for everyone...

This year for the first time, camping is available, and the event runs for 3 days over the entire 3 day Bank Holiday weekend. We'll be at Geronimo as ambassadors - and hopefully we'll get the boys on the zipline this year - glad it's not this weekend, Hurricane Doris would have put paid to that!

I told you about some of the 130 activities on offer in my previous introductory post, but it gets even better for those of you who are fans of children's TV especially. New announcements include children's telly celebs and You Tube stars, including some real crowd pleasers.

CBeebies favourites Justin Fletcher will headline the Main Stage on Saturday 27th May, and on Sunday 28th Mr Bloom introduces his brand new 40 minute show, featuring his amazing four-piece band. Also on the main stage Cook & Line from Swashbuckle will be performing their slapstick Pirate Show and Art Attack’s Lloyd Warbey will also be on hand to inspire creative kids. YouTubers Amazing Arabella and Mini Matt Smith will entertain the crowds in the new Digital Zone (that will please my boys!).

Be sure to check the line up though before booking to avoid disappointment and catch the acts on stage that your children really want to see - there simply isn't enough time to have everyone performing on the same day.

The vast majority of the entertainment at Geronimo will be there for the full 3 days. The theme of this year’s event is Princesses, Knights and Dragons everyone is welcome to dress up. There are two full Circuses plus a Theatre Tent and a Show Ground Arena, with displays including motorcycles, jousting and fencing (for the Princesses, Knights and Dragons in that order I imagine).

For active children, the Bear Grylls Assault Course and dare devil mobile climbing walls might wear them out a little, then they can calm down with a cardboard harp workshops. Music at Geronimo really has been given important position, and includes the Voodoo Love Orchestra, Manière des Bohémiens an energetic and improvised Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli influenced Gypsy Jazz and Eastern European swing and one of my favourites, Mr Wilson Second Liners - New Orleans meets 90s club classics…

Tier two tickets are now available at the following prices: Prebooked Saturday day only £21 per ticket; Sunday £21 per ticket; Monday £18 per ticket; 2 day Saturday/Sunday - £39; 3 day Saturday, Sunday and Monday - £55. Camping is £60 FOR THREE NIGHTS. caravan is £90 FOR THREE NIGHTS and admittance for a day on the gate is £30.
