The Egmont Star Wars World Book Day Giveaway Tour

This Spring Egmont have released a series of new Star Wars books for children. We really enjoyed the Early Readers they sent us to review last year - but these are even better. We have 3 story books for competent young readers, a colouring book, and our favourite - 'Where's Wookiee?'!

The Egmont Star Wars World Book Day Giveaway Tour

Star Wars has long been a favourite here, it really is a timeless classic that spans generations. It is one of the rare films you can put on and everyone will watch together. We all got into the spirit and with light sabres from wrapping paper tubes and gaffer(duct) tape, in a flash (and a dressing gown or two) Jedi and Empire were battling in my hallway!

The famous battle between Darth Vader and Obi Wan....in our second version Obi Wan claimed the win.

A quick break for a book and it's the new Star Wars: Adventures In Wild Space books.

Egmont Star Wars young reader book review

These are suitable for children who are fairly confident young readers. The stories are easy to follow, but there are some very tricky alien words. My 7 year old is just ready for them. There are two new 96 page novels, The Nest and The Snare (rrp £6.99 each), and the special World Book Day book which will cost £1.

Another re-enactment, and it's the moment that the Jawa captured poor R2-D2 in the desert...

Our next book is the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Colouring Book. It's big and bold, ideal for an amateur colourer who doesn't want anything 'babyish'. My 7 year old loves this and has spent hours meticulously colouring droids. Priced at £4.99

Obviously everyone can recognise the guy in our next re-enactment. This home-made General Grievous costume is simply attained by wearing a cream t-shirt, making some gaffer tape/wrapping paper tube light sabres and growing 2 extra arms.

Our favourite Star Wars book is Where's The Wookiee? My children love these books and look at them for hours...

Egmont Books Where's Wookiee? book review

Where's The Wookiee? is beautifully illustrated and there are so many features to find on each page that it'll keep your child entertained for months. Priced £9.99

Our final re-enactment is the little talked about time when the Droids, Yoda and Chewie rescued a lost cat called Gary...

The new Star Wars books from Egmont are available to buy now from all good bookstores and online on Amazon.

As this is a tour, the next blog on the route tomorrow will be ET Speaks From Home - who will also be hosting a giveaway.

Egmont have very kindly offered one of my readers a set of 3 Star Wars: Adventures in Wild Space books as a giveaway prize. Entry to the giveaway is by Gleam form below. UK entries only, full terms and conditions at the bottom of the Gleam form. The giveaway will close at midnight Sunday 20th March.

You can find all of my giveaways on my dedicated giveaways page...
