So Slime DIY Slimelicious Station Review and UK Giveaway Age 6+ (Sent by Canal Toys)

We recently reviewed the So MAGIC DIY Wonder Magic Garden for Canal Toys and now they've sent us the So Slime DIY Slimelicious Station for review. Suitable for age 6+, this is a scented-slime making kit with enough ingredients and decorations to make 16 little pots of imitation ice cream slime...

Everything is housed in a sturdy box, which can easily be used for storage if you don't make all of your slimes at once. It's an exciting parcel to open.

Included in the kit are a lot of parts, which are easy to distinguish:
Slime Station
4 Mini shakers
Scented Slime powder
2 Tools
Stickers
3 Tubes of colour
Instructions
6 bags of decorations
3 decorative straws

So Slime DIY Slimelicious Station assembly requires some strength

There is a little assembly required and it's actually quite hard to clip everything together, so you might need a grown up. You only need to add plain water, everything else is included, so you can play straight away. Christmas morning-friendly.

All of the ingredients are non-toxic, so although you definitely aren't meant to eat your slime, if an incident occurs, it's mainly algae-based.

Place the little cup from the mini shaker on the station, add the slime powder, colours/scents and water, and shake. Finally, decorate your creation and 'serve'.  It's super-easy to use and a 6 year old will have no problems, although it can be a bit gruesome looking before you shake it!

Your basic slime scents are Bubble Gum, Popcorn and Grape Soda - blue, yellow and pink. By mixing the different scents/colours you can create a host of different ones.

So Slime DIY Slimelicious Station menu what to mix to create scents flavours

We found strawberry was a clear favourite, and the yellow is really vanilla. Some of the mixtures are uncannily like the food or drink they are representing and they do smell and look delicious.

By altering the amount of water they add, just by a few drops, children can change the thickness of their slime. There's plenty of room for some chemistry and experimentation. By making the slime a bit thicker, we were able to twist two colours together and make a special 'ice cream'.

The So Slime DIY Slimelicious Station has been a hit. It's novel and cute and there's a lot of fun to be had playing with the slime as well as creating with it. We've not run out of mixture yet, so there is plenty of play value for your money. It really isn't the most eco-friendly toy, but after a couple of weeks when your slime has either hardened or become runny (depending on whether you left the lid tightly on the pot), you can take everything out and reuse with fresh slime.
