The Totally Amazing World Atlas Review & Giveaway for Carlton Books

Carlton Books make some lovely books for children and The Totally Amazing Fact-Packed Fold-Out Atlas Of The World is no exception. Genuinely full of information and big, bold illustrations, there's enough here to satisfy any young future explorer.

The book starts with a world map showing continents and The World At A Glance. The perfect introduction to our planet, neatly laid out and with text in manageable boxes. The book format is full colour in a large 24cm x 28cm with a really glossy cover and fold-out pages throughout.

The body of the book has the world split into large sections and continents, with details about the countries, people, culture, history and major locations within. All the important details are covered, the facts that most interest children.

The fold-out maps are what makes this book special. Once opened up you have yet more facts and figures about that chunk of the globe, along with a relatively large scale map which shows plenty of detail, on a HUGE spread.

This will be the moment when a lot of children realise just how small the UK is. I well remember that shock! Despite the size, the limited space for each country does mean some of the items chosen to represent that nation are not what we'd choose, but in general I think they aren't bad and give children a great idea about the people and customs around the world.

The Totally Amazing Fact-Packed Fold-Out Atlas Of The World is written by Jen Green and illustrated by Christiane Engel, published by Carlton Books and available to buy now priced £9.99rrp from all good book shops instore and online, including Amazon (affiliate link*). 36 pages, extending to 56 including the fold-out sections.

Carlton Books have kindly offered a copy of The Totally Amazing Fact-Packed Fold-Out Atlas Of The World for one of my readers. Entry to the giveaway is by Gleam form below and it's open to UK entrants only.
